TV Takeover: MTV's House of Style, Season 2 Premiere

"We're gonna find something... Fancy." - Jeremy Scott

MTV's iconic show House of Style is finally back, with none other than the incredibly stylish Iggy Azalea as the host.

The original series began its eleven year run in January 1989, with hosts such as Cindy Crawford exploring the world of models, fashion and celebrity.

This season, MTV has announced that the series will focus on "how music and fashion interact on a daily basis".

The five-minute premiere of the second season, which is now a webseries, saw Iggy meet up with designer Jeremy Scott (head designer at Moschino) to do some vintage shopping in L.A.

Off/On Topic: Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" Music Video, featuring Charli XCX

Is there anyone cooler than Iggy Azalea?

The answer: As if.

Whether you like or dislike her music, that opinion has become irrefutably irrelevant, as her new music video for "Fancy" is basically a complete re-enactment of the greatest film ever: Clueless (1995).

The three-minute clip stars Iggy as Cher Horowitz, starting from her iconic scene in which she picks out her clothes for school with a computer, through to her infamous debate speech, P.E. class, lunch with Dionne and Tai, and the epic house party in the Valley.

There's even an Amber in it.

It goes without saying that the style in the video is flawless, as it is very much inspired by the film, but still retains a contemporary feel.

If you're prepared for the greatest thing ever, please watch the video:

Off/On Topic: Iggy Azalea for Nylon Magazine

If anyone could summarise the way I feel about fashion,
it would be Iggy.

This is a little different to what I would normally write about. It's not specifically about movies, but it is about fashion, and once you hear what Iggy has to say about fashion, you might agree that it is very relevant.

Thus, it's Off/On Topic.

I haven't had the chance to purely express this yet, but I love Iggy Azalea. Her music, her style, everything.

So I read an interview with Iggy for NylonMag.com, and when asked about the role that fashion plays in her art, she responded:

I think it’s really important—fashion. But, I love fashion in the costume-y way. Not to say that how I dress is a costume—I would dress like this any day—but I love movie characters, and I love the fashion of costumes and characters more than I’d like to look at a runway. I think I feel more inspired by movies than I do by watching Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. That’s just how I honestly feel. So, I think fashion is important because fashion is clothing, but I don’t necessarily think seasonal fashion is important. I think just finding moments in clothing and looks, and creating characters and stories through clothing is important.

Pure genius. This pretty much sums up why I write this blog.

Thank you, Iggy.

P.S. If you haven't already, seriously watch Iggy's music video for "Change Your Life".
